The giant in the chemical industry, the Dow Chemical Company, is currently implementing a safety update for the naphtha tanks on its Terneuzen site. The Trisoplast product is also used in this improvement operation. The Papendrecht-based company Gebr. De Koning is reinforcing existing bunding with steel sheet piling. The bunding encircles the four naphtha tanks and serves as one of the emergency facilities to prevent chemical fluid from leaking away if a tank should fail. Where supply and discharge pipes run through the bunding, the sheet piling obviously cannot be installed. GID will apply a layer of Trisoplast at these locations and easily connect them to the surrounding construction and conduits. Together with the sheet piling, this will ensure a watertight construction.
